COH / 孝 は旅と着物と古いものが好きな母娘がつくっています。

私達の物語は亡き祖母が遺したたくさんの古い着物を自分達のために洋服にリメイクするところから始まりました。

ご存知の通り着物は先人達の残した尊い文化です。

それは創造性と職人技の結集した宝物とも言えます。

しかし現代のライフスタイルでは日常的に着物が着られる機会が少なく、

多くの着物が箪笥の奥にしまわれたまま、朽ちてしまっています。

そのデザインの多様さや美しさ、精緻な匠の技にすっかり魅了された私達は

忘れ去られた着物たちに新しく輝ける場所をみつけてほしいと思うようになりました。

そうして生まれたのがCOH / 孝 です。

私達に着物の美しさとものづくりの喜びを教えてくれた祖母の名前にちなんで「孝」とつけました。

全て一点もので、そのひとつひとつが長い時を越えた物語を紡ぎます。

“今と昔、西と東”の橋渡しになれることにワクワクしながら心をこめてつくっています。

COH / 孝 is made by hands of mother and daughter who loves travel, Kimono and other good old things.

Our story has begun with a bunch of old kimonos which my grandmother left.

At first we made it into daily clothes for ourselves.

Obviously Kimono is huge legacies of creativity 

and craftsmanship from our predecessors.

Yet many of them are not worn daily, kept in the depth of grandma’s closet or just be decayed.

Since we’ve been fascinated by the aesthetic patterns, colors and artisanal woven or embroidered textiles,

we hope the forgotten gems to find new places to be shine again in modern lifestyle.

So COH / 孝was born, named as a tribute to my grandmother who taught us the beauty of Kimono and joy of creation.

Our items are one of a kind and carefully tailored.

Each piece tells own story over decades.

We love to be a part of brides between past and future, east and west.
