Oshima tsumugi is one of the world's three most famous textiles along with Gobelins in France and Persian carpets in Iran. It is a traditional fabric of the Amami Islands in the southern part of Kagoshima Prefecture. The deep rich black color is dyed with the decoction of plants living in the Amami area and muddy soil containing iron, and the fine weaving by skilled craftsmen gives it a beautiful luster. In addition to its beauty, Oshima Tsumugi is supple, lightweight, and wrinkle-resistant, it can be with you during your travels. The front side of the pullover has a clean boat neck and shell buttons on the back, When worn backwards, the shell buttons adds a nice accent.
