This is the ultimate piece created with that concept in mind.
Instead of resisting the passage of time and the changing seasons,
it is a garment that evolves and flows with the wearer.
It is a dress with room to breathe.

For this piece,
we used an antique handwoven silk kimono with a delicate texture
and a beautiful jacquard pattern.
The kimono, adorned with exquisite hand-embroidered crests on the chest,
is a garment of high formal rank.
The unique depth of color and texture on both sides
is a distinctive feature of handwoven textiles.
To fully highlight the charm of this handcrafted kimono fabric,
we avoided unnecessary cutting or embellishments,
opting for a reversible design that allows you to enjoy the inside and the out.
Multiple steps were taken to ensure the beauty of both sides,
with careful attention to detail, including hand-stitching in the finishing process.

The silhouette is generous,
designed not to cling too closely to the body's lines.
The fabric’s texture, vertical patterns, and drape are accentuated by the long length.
You can wear this dress in four ways—front to back and inside out.
You can also adjust the neckline using the three hooks
or style the accompanying scarf around the neck or as a belt,
offering endless ways to wear it.

My mother told me that my grandmother,
who had worn kimono everyday also used to reverse her old kimonos
to sew new kimonos.
For people in the past, kimonos were not something to be easily replaced;
they were cherished and worn with care, like lifelong companions.
I hope this dress, too, will accompany the wearer for many years,
beautifully adapting to the changing seasons and gracefully aging with the wearer.

“もしも自分のクローゼットに一着しかドレスを持たないとしたら？”
というコンセプトでつくった究極の一着です。
季節や時の流れに抗うのではなく
着る人と共に揺蕩いうつろいゆくことのできる
余白のある衣服ができました。

今回使用したのは繊細なシボと地模様が美しい手織りの古い正絹着物。
胸元に手刺繍による紋が入った格式高い着物です。
表裏の濃淡と風合いが共に美しいのは手織りのテキスタイルならでは。
職人の手仕事によるこの着物地の味わい深さを最大限に活かすため無駄な裁断や装飾はせず、
裏も表も楽しんで頂けるようにリバーシブル仕様にしました。
両面を美しく仕立てるために多くの工程を経て
工夫を凝らしながら細かい部分は手縫いで丁寧に仕上げています。

ボディラインを拾い過ぎないおおらかなシルエット。
シボと地模様の縦のラインと織り地のドレープが綺麗に落ちるようにロング丈に。
表裏と前後の4ウェイで着て頂くのはもちろん
襟元に三つあるホックの空き具合を調節したり
付属のスカーフを首元に巻いたりベルトとしてアレンジしたり
何通りにも着て頂けるドレスです。

母によれば着道楽であった祖母は
古くなった着物の裏を表に仕立て直して長く着ていたそうです。
昔の人にとって着物は簡単に新しいものと変えたりするものではなく
工夫しながら大切に長く人生を共にする相棒のようなものだったのかもしれません。
このドレスも季節のうつろいや、
